The Aga Khan Education Service. Pakistan (AKES,P), an institution of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), provides educational access to more than 44,500 students with 156 schools. and 5 hostels.
AKES,P invites applications for the following position:
National ECD Coordinator — Central Office Islamabad/Karachi:
This national level position provides the opportunity to develop and implement Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes for schools, educators and young children, aged 0-8 years, across AKES,P's schools and ECD centres. The coordinator will report to the Head of Education and work closely with the regional ECD coordinators based in Gilgit, Chitral and Karachi. The key responsibilities of this position include developing and implementing instructional material for pre-primary classes across AKES,P schools and orienting ECD teams in the same. Furthermore, it includes but is not limited to the development of customised Professional Development Plans, provision of coaching and mentoring support to enhance the knowledge and skills of ECD practitioners and conducting, monitoring/supervising and evaluating teacher training programmes.
The ideal candidate must have:
• A Master's degree, preferably in Education, with a broad knowledge-base of Early Childhood programmes • Minimum five years of teaching experience in Early Childhood settings (Pre-K — Grade 3) and three years of experience in teacher education • Knowledge of child development, early care and education, family childcare, and school-age environments, in-depth knowledge of the Early Childhood Curriculum and its assessment framework and expertise in the administration of childhood development programmes and its assessment • Leadership experience and demonstrated skills to promote collaboration and assume a mentorship and coaching role will be preferred • Ability to speak English and prepare written reports in English with a demonstrated ability to interact with a wide range of constituents • Ability to work extended hours and flexibility to travel across the country, particularly to Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral
