Program Overview
This program is specifically designed to support students to do research in Germany.This scholarship is for Ph.D., Master’s and Undergraduate programs. In addition to these opportunities, DAAD also offers other long and short-term grants in the areas of the arts, science and engineering, language study, and journalism. Students interested in these additional opportunities should send their applications directly to DAAD, as they do not fall within the NYU campus submission process. The NYU campus process only pertains to applicants for the Study Scholarships or Long-term Research Grants. Short-term research grant applicants should apply directly to the DAAD New York Office. Make your login account and do fill application form as per requirements. This is fully funded scholarships offered by Germany.
where they download an electronic application form and complete it. Applicants should have all the additional necessary documents ready when they upload their completed application form. The Online Application Portal allows applicants to check the status of their application. Once an application has been accepted, a notification and a summary of the application in PDF format will be sent to the portal.
Reference writers must fill out the reference form available on the DAAD portal. They must then provide the applicant with a signed, paper copy of the letter in a sealed envelope. This sealed envelope must be submitted by the student to NYU GSAS as a hard copy on or before the final internal application deadline on October 24, 2019.
Please note: GSAS administers the application process for the Study Scholarship (open to students in their final year of undergraduate study or currently in a Master's program)
and the Research Grant (open to students at both the Master's and Doctoral level).
This year NYU will have two internal deadlines:
The first NYU internal deadline will be for students who would like to receive feedback on their application. After feedback is issued, these students will be able to access and revise their application before resubmitting. In order to receive feedback, students must their application materials to gsas.fellowships@nyu.edu by the first deadline. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION THROUGH THE DAAD PORTAL. You will not be able to access it again. Instead, compile your required materials into one PDF document and email them to us for internal review.
The first NYU internal review deadline is Thursday, October 10.
The second and final NYU deadline will be for students who do not wish to receive feedback on their application. Please submit your required documents into the DAAD application portal. Once you complete this step, please email gsas.fellowships@nyu.edu a copy of the DAAD portal-generated application summary. Applicants must also bring one required letter of recommendation in sealed a envelope to the GSAS Office of Academic and Student Affairs at 6 Washington Square North, 2nd Floor.
The second and final NYU deadline is Thursday, October 24.
