U.S. Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy, University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Peshawar is a USAID funded new initiative with the mission to support Pakistan's economic development by strengthening relevance and responsiveness of university products, including applied and policy research and skilled graduates, to the needs of public and private sectors. The Project will be completed by the end of September 2019.
The Center invites applications from Pakistani nationals for the following positions on contract basis. S.No Position Minimum Qualification & Experience Job Description 1 Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor — Renewable Energy Engineering PhD in Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering or closely related field with research experience in energy conversion, energy storage, energy system analysis, and advanced materials for energy applications from HEC recognized University/Institution. • Teaching MS and PhD Students. • Supervising and conducting applied research. • Submitting proposals for International grants. • Submitting proposals for international grants. • Taking part in commercialization activities. • Collaborating with relevant industries. • Other miscellaneous responsibilities. 2 Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor — Electrical Energy System Engineering PhD in Electrical Engineering with Research Experience in Power Engineering/ Power Systems/ Power Electronics/ Smart Grids or closely related field from HEC recognized University/Institution. 3 Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor — Thermal System Engineering PhD in Thermal Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related field from HEC recognized University/Institution with specialization in Combustion, Thermal Power, Gas Turbines and CFD. 4 Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor — Energy Management and Sustainability PhD in Energy Management / Energy Policy/ Engineering/ Sciences or any other relevant field from HEC recognized University/Institution with research experience in the field of Energy Policy/ Sustainable Energy Solutions/ Energy Management. 5 Research Associate — Electrical Energy Systems Engineering Master's Degree(Foreign) or MS in Electrical Power Engineering or Electrical Energy System Engineering or any related fields. No experience required. • Assist Academic Program Developer and Senior Faculty in Conducting research. • Facilitate lab activities, industry visits and seminars. 6 Research Associate — Renewable Energy Engineering Master's Degree(Foreign) or M.Phil in Material Sciences/ MS (Pakistan) in Renewable Energy Engineering, Material Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or any related fields. No experience required. S.No Job Title Experience Publications Professor 15 years teaching/research experience with at least eight years' experience at the Post PhD level in HEC recognized University or a post graduate institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a national or an international organization will be required. OR 10 years post PhD teaching/research experience in a HEC recognized university or a post graduate institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a national or an international organization. 15 research publications (with at least 5 publications in the last five years), in HEC/PEC recognized journals. 2. Associate Professor 10 years teaching/research experience with at least four years' experience at the Post PhD level in HEC recognized University or a post graduate institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a national or an international organization will be required. OR 5 years post PhD teaching/research experience in a HEC recognized university or a post graduate institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a national or an international organization. 10 research publications (with at least 4 publications in the last five years), in HEC/PEC recognized journals. 3, Assistant Professor Ph.D. in relevant field with no experience.
