Company Profile and Details :
• This hospital is established in the old commissioner’s house. The first commissioner who resided at the residence was Lt. Col. Henry Percy in 1901. It has an area of 61 Kanals. Commissioner house in situated on one of the most important roads of Multan i.e Abdali Road. In 2004, Government of the Punjab decided to establish a Cardiac Center on this land. It was approved and work on construction of building started in 2004. According to a survey published in 1999, there were about 4000 Cardiac centres in the world.
• In North America one cardiac centre serves the population of 1.20 million. In Asia one cardic centre serves 16 million population. In Africa one cardiac centre serves the population of 33 million.
• In Pakistan with a population of 160 million there were three established Institutes of Cardiology. (Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore).
• There was a great need to develop an independent centre for treatment of Heart disease in South Punjab with a population of over 30?40 million people.
• This cardiac center is providing services not only to the people of South Punjab but also to adjacent areas of Balochistan, Sindh & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
• The construction of CPEIC started in June 2004. Initially it was named as Multan Institute of Cardiology. Later its name was changed to Ch. Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology Multan. The work progressed at a great speed. Building was completed by 2006. It has a total area of approximately 250,000 sqft including main hospital and nursing & doctors hostels. It was built at a total cost of approximately Rs. 1373.758 million. The total bed capacity of the hospital is 279.
