Our client is one of the largest commercials banks in Pakistan with global market presence and branches in all parts of the country. The bank invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the positions of Litigation Head-South, Litigation Head, Manager Advisory and External Agencies Coordinator in their Legal Division.
Litigation Head - South The incumbent will oversee litigation across South Region comprising Sindh and Baluchistan. Provide day to day legal advice and assistance pertaining to litigation. He/she will support and ensure active liaison and follow-up with external counsel at the pre-hearing as well as post-hearing stages. The ideal candidate would have a minimum Bachelor's Degree in Law from a University / Institute recognized by HEC, with at least 15 years of relevant experience in handling Legal Affairs of Bank(s). The position is Karachi based Litigation Head The incumbent will vet/draft pleadings, engage lawyers for filing and defending cases, form the best-suited/ cost-effective strategies regarding legal course of action in consultation with the dealing Advocates. Moreover, he/she will render legal advice to different business segments of the Bank, liaise and coordinate with the dealing advocates, supervise the litigation portfolio of the Bank etc. The ideal candidate would have a minimum Bachelor's Degree in Law from a University / Institute recognized by HEC, with Minimum 10 years' of relevant experience in handling Legal Affairs of Bank(s). The positions are based at Karachi / Multan. Manager Advisory The incumbent will be responsible for legal matters involving drafting & documentation, advisory and representation. More specifically he/she will draft and give advice on financing agreements, charge/security documents and other legal documents, offer legal advises / opinions and guidance on issuance of guarantees, acceptance of collaterals, other operational matters and represent the bank on judicial and quasi-judicial forums. The ideal candidate would have a minimum Bachelor's degree in Law from a University/Institute recognized by HEC, have at least 7 years' experience as either in-house legal counsel (preferably with a bank / financial institution) or corporate law practice / chamber work, with a very good exposure to banking laws and regulations. The position is Karachi based. External Agencies Coordinator The incumbent will be handling legal matters relating to Law Enforcement Agencies i.e. NAB, FIA, Anticorruption, Police etc. which may include obtaining and submitting required records/documents to external agencies, follow up pending matters, render legal opinions and assist bank personnel in dealing with these agencies. The ideal candidate would have a minimum Bachelor's Degree (Preferably in Law) from a University / Institute recognized by HEC, with minimum 5 years' of relevant experience in handling External Agencies related affairs of the Bank.
