Programme Migration for Development (PMD)
As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft fiir Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. The Global Project 'Programme Migration for Development (PMD)' is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fir Internationale Zusammenarbeit (Gil) GmbH. The project is active in 25 partner countries. Its overarching objective is to strengthen the development-relevant contributions of migrants in their countries of origin and improve the framework conditions for legal migration in selected partner countries. The PMD is in the course of expanding its activities to Pakistan, therefore seeking suitable candidates for the following positions:
Qualifications and Experience: • Master's Degree in social sciences or any other project related field or qualification in business administration is desirable (equivalent of MBA). • At least 5 years' professional experience in a comparable position. • Highly motivated and service oriented • Very good management and communication and problem-solving skills • language slags: Urdu (fluent spoken and written): English (good command in speaking and writing) • Familiarity with the administrative, political and policy environment in Pakistan and in the region • Ability to build strong relationships with partners. officials, media, and civil society • Ability to impart training and capacity development sessions. • A strong capacity for effective teamwork, high degree of flexibility ability to work under pressure of deadlines • Very good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, email, the internet) and computer applications. MS Office; high command of Excel • Experience with an international working environment, is capable of working within an inter/cross-cultural environment and politically sensitive context
